Choose a Program of Education

Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University welcomes applications from students of all countries who are interesting in studing of medicine, biomedicine, pharmacy, psyhology or social sciences. We offer Bachelor’s and Specialty Degree programs for applicants who have completed advanced secondary school. Master's, Residency and Postgraduate programs are provided for those who wish to continue their studies in higher school (the level of education required for admission is indicated in the description of the relevant program).

Please, note:

Most teaching at our University is carried out in Russian (with the exception of some English-specific programs). If you choose the program in Russian, you must be convinced that you have sufficient fluency in written and spoken Russian to cope with the program from the start. Our one-year preparatory courses can help you in studing Russian as well as biology and chemistry, before you start education in higher school.

Read the “Admission Regulations”

to determine the financial basis of your training and to get acquainted with the list of documents required as well as exams and deadlines for submission of documents.

Admission are carried out at the expense of budgetallocations federal budget, as well as at the expense of physical and legal entities in accordance with contracts for the provision of paid educational services. The following students are eligible for admission at the expense of the Russia federal budget allocations on a par (in general competition) with citizens of the Russian Federation:

  • Foreign citizens and persons without citizenship who are compatriots living abroad
  • Foreign citizens eligible for higher education at the expense of budgetary allocations in accordance with international treaties and intergovernmental agreements of the Russian Federation.

Please, note:

Other international students can also study at the expense of the federal budget, if they have won a scholarship within the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation. Please apply for state scholarships in advance and choose «The Russian National Research Medical University» on the website RUSSIA.STUDY.

Prepare Application Documents and Plan Your Visit to Our University

If you do not have the results of the Unified State Examination of Russia or a state scholarship, you must come to the university to pass the entrance exams. If you need a visa to enter Russia, request an invitation from us in advance.

If you need legalization of educational documents in Russia go through procedure of foreign education recognition. We can assist you in recognizing secondary education documents for filing at our university. Recognition of documents for submission to several universities in Russia and documents on higher education is carried out by an authorized organization.

Please, note:

Getting an invitation and a visa takes more than a month. Keep this in mind when planning your visit.

Submit Application for Admission and Pass Exams According to Deadlines

All documents should be submitted as hardcopies. We do not accept electronic applications. You can submit documents directly to the admission office or send them via a postal service like DHL.

Dates of testing for different groups of applicants are specified in our "Admission Regulation".

Please, note:

Before exams, future students can test their knowledge with the help of rehearsal testing (the number of attempts is not limited).

Successfully Pass Exams and Get Documents of Enrollment

Sign a training contract (if you are going to study under a contract), pay for tuition and get a document of enrollment to the University. Reasons for enrollment are:

  • your statement of consent to enrollment;
  • the original document on the existing education or a copy thereof, certified in according to the established procedure,
  • and a document on payment of training (receipt) for students whose will study on contracts for the provision of paid educational services.
